2 Things You MUST know about PIPES when buying a home in North Idaho.

Yes, you need to know a little bit about WATER PIPES when buying a home.  Here are the 2 things that you should know:

  1. Check for dripping or leaky faucets.  You should check every faucet on the property (both indoor and outdoor).
  2. Check to see if the pipes are copper.  Copper plumbing lasts “forever” and it’s less likely to have hard water deposit build up in the pipes.  Older homes may have iron pipes, so have your home inspector check for rust.  Try to avoid homes that have PVC piping throughout – this is a short cut that can cost significant amounts of money later on.

We always recommend a good home inspector.  A good home inspector will help you with these two issues involving water pipes.
